Since 2020, architects Gonzalo Herrero and Pati Santos (The Good Thing) have been leading the research DE-ALIENATING THE HOME through their Design Studio at Central Saint Martins in London.
For the last edition of Concéntrico Festival in Spain, they presented part of this research that explores contemporary domesticity in response to questions of ecology and well-being.
Their installation and performance, developed in conjunction with students from Central Saint Martins, seeked to break with the modern canons of domestic space, inviting the public to question its limits and definition, and in doing so to seek a new connection between people and the planet through these spaces.

The passageway next to the former tobacco factory was transformed into a surreal home where visitors and passers became residents of an unexpected domestic space. A space is inhabited by unusual objects and furniture that invite people to question the function for each room, its limits, and the agency that these and themselves have in their definition.
